Whether you’re shopping for someone special or simply searching for a great deal, Virginia Beach has plenty of excellent malls and plazas to choose from.

Pembroke Mall has been a beloved destination for decades, drawing both locals and visitors alike. According to local developers, its success can be attributed to its vital anchor stores that continue to draw in shoppers and businesspeople.

31 Ocean

Virginia Beach is a stunning coastal resort city with an exciting local dining scene and maritime history. The boardwalk at Virginia Beach’s boardwalk is lined with hotels and restaurants offering stunning ocean views, making it a popular tourist destination during summer.

31 Ocean, part of the Laskin Gateway redevelopment, is an upscale shopping and entertainment destination for tourists and locals. It boasts a four-star hotel, two award-winning restaurants, an outdoor venue featuring nightly entertainment during summer nights, and numerous boutiques in one location.

31 Ocean began as a design charrette to reduce traffic and encourage visitors to head west along 31st Street towards a shopping center. This redevelopment has enormously positively affected the resort, and 31 Ocean remains a popular destination for tourists and residents.

The Shops at Hilltop

The Shops at Hilltop is one of Virginia Beach’s best shopping malls and the perfect destination to grab a bite or pick up your new bathing suit. Just five minutes from the oceanfront, this center offers an array of fantastic stores.

The shopping center boasts a diverse selection of stores, from clothing and homewares to jewelry. Plus, there’s Planet Fitness and several restaurants nearby.

Discover an inspiring collection of over 120 shops, boutiques, specialty stores, services, and restaurants – all in one location! You’ll find many contemporary and classic apparel and exquisite gifts. Plus, choose between fine or casual dining options for the perfect experience.

Parking at the mall is convenient, and a trolley called “Wave” runs daily between Memorial Day and Labor Day to get you from one end to another.

Pembroke Mall

Pembroke Mall opened in March 1966 as Virginia Beach and South Hampton Roads’ first indoor shopping center. Attracted people from throughout the state of Virginia, North Carolina, and Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

Over the past 30 years, Pembroke Mall has evolved with the times and competition by altering its image and renovating stores. According to a local developer, this has allowed it to retain its share of customers while staying ahead of the curve.

Today, 54 acres are set for a $200 million redevelopment to transform it into an exciting mixed-use destination. This development includes shopping and dining establishments, senior living communities, luxury apartments, hotels, and more – all within one exciting destination!

Current tenants like Old Navy and Target will remain open throughout the redevelopment. Other establishments, such as Flaming Wok and Latitude Climbing + Fitness, will close permanently upon completion of work in 2025.

Landstown Commons

Landstown Commons is an award-winning shopping and dining destination located in Virginia Beach. It offers an eclectic mix of over 80 retail and dining establishments.

The center is home to Best Buy, Burlington, PetSmart, Ross Dress for Less, Old Navy, Ulta, Five Below, and Office Max.

It boasts many big retailers that are conveniently situated and provides ample parking. Furthermore, there is a selection of restaurants perfect for lunch.

I love visiting this shopping center, especially around Christmastime. They are constantly adding new stores and hosting weekly events.

This mall is conveniently situated at the intersection of Princess Anne Road and Dam Neck Road in Virginia Beach, close to Sentara Medical Complex, Virginia Beach Sportsplex, Municipal Center, and many other destinations.
