If you’re in the market for a new car, you’ll be happy to know that Kia cars are available in various styles and configurations. Each is aimed at a specific type of buyer, from first-time drivers to families with small children.

Today, we’ll look at the larger sedans in Kia’s lineup, starting with its midsize Optima.

Optima

Kia’s Optima sedan is one of the best value-rich options in its class. It has a stylish design, luxurious interior, and cutting-edge technology keeps you connected and protected.

The Optima is available in five trim levels, starting with the LX. The base model has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.

The EX models get a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine with 178 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid Optima also gets an upgraded battery that increases trunk space slightly.

Sportage

The Sportage is a midsize SUV that combines the best of both worlds, offering a spacious and comfortable interior while providing ample cargo space. It also provides a slew of active safety features included as standard.

The 2023 Sportage is available with a range of powertrains. A 187-horsepower 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four with front-wheel drive is the base engine, while a 227-horsepower hybrid and a plug-in hybrid are offered options.

A new X-Line and X-Pro model with all-wheel drive is also on offer. In addition, these models feature off-road enhancements like a 1.5-inch lift kit and BFGoodrich all-terrain tires.

Sorento

The Kia Sorento is a midsize SUV that seats up to seven people. It comes with a 191-horsepower base engine and an optional 281-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder.

For drivers who prefer to conserve fuel, there’s also a plug-in hybrid Sorento available with an electric motor that provides up to 32 miles of range in the city.

Inside, the Sorento offers quality materials and several cubby storage areas. It’s a good choice for families looking for an all-around comfortable ride.

Sedona

The Kia Sedona is a family-friendly minivan equipped with features to make everyone’s life easier. It’s spacious, offers a great warranty, and can seat eight passengers comfortably.

The Sedona is a comfortable ride, and its 3.3-liter V-6 engine has plenty of kick-off the line. The EPA rates it at 18 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway.

The Kia Sedona offers seating for up to seven with the second-row bench seats folded, and the third-row seats can recline. However, several rivals offer more third-row space than the Sedona.

Forte

The Forte is an excellent choice for drivers looking for an affordable compact sedan with many features. It offers excellent safety ratings, a long list of standard equipment, and an impressive 5-year/60,000-mile warranty.

It’s also a good choice for fuel economy, especially in the base LX. It gets 31 mpg in the city, 41 mpg on the highway, and 35 mpg combined.

It also has a wide range of driver assistance technologies as standard or available on higher trims. These include blind-spot monitors, braking assistance, and adaptive cruise control.

Stinger

The Stinger is a rear-drive sport sedan that combines a striking design and premium amenities with powerful performance. It is powered by two turbocharged engines and mated to a responsive second-generation 8-speed automatic transmission with five individual drive modes.

The standard 2.5-liter turbo engine is good for 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.3-liter V6 produces a more robust 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. The 0-60 times for these engines are impressive, with the Stinger GT-Line taking 4.7 seconds and the GT1 and GT2 models hitting 4.9 seconds.

Safety is a concern in the small sports car class, but the Stinger offers many features to protect drivers. The Head-Up Display keeps your eyes on the road while advanced technology helps combat distracted driving and severe collisions.
